Long Grove Proud of their German roots celebrate Octoberfest with live music, German cuisine, great beer and tons of fun for the whole family.
The village at the moment isn't what I remember it to be as a child however, you can still feel the strong presence of the town as you drive through.
With the Ghost Walk scheduled for Friday, October 28th the town is letting you know they are watching you!!
Don't know all the details, but it seems some owners have retired and some have sold their properties which are currently closed. However, we are told that new businesses and shops are expected to open soon.
Even though, a few of the old favorites are gone, the owners and workers are doing their best to hang in there with hopes of better days to come.
If you're a fan favorite of the Village Tavern then you should be warned they are CLOSED on Tuesdays. Don't sweat it, Long Grove Cafe on the Mill Pond on a beautiful day is a great spot for a great meal.
So, if you are looking for a fun weekend activity, Long Grove German Fest never disappoints. And for a ghoulish fun night, I am looking forward to the Ghost Walk.
